Yes. All of the natural botanical ingredients carry a small amount of broad spectrum sun protection factor (approximately SPF 6 to 10), however, I recommend that your suncare should include regular periods of time OUT of the sun and covered up appropriately if spending long periods of time outdoors.

Personally, I would never use a synthetic chemical sunscreen on my lips, or anywhere on my body for that matter. None of them have been passed as 'GRAS' (Generally Regarded As Safe) and the two sunblock minerals that are considered GRAS (Zinc and Titanium) are unsuitable for lip use as they cannot be ingested. Botanical oils can provide a great alternative care system, but be conscious of your sun exposure, that is the most important thing to do.

Never rely on a natural or chemical sun cream to be your only sun protection. Covering with a tightweave cloth and getting into shade is your best protection from UV damage and premature aging. Enjoy your time in the sun and be wise about sun exposure.
