If you loved the classic fragrance of 4711 Cologne, you'll enjoy this modern adaptation of a traditional formula, first made in vast quantities for the European courts in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Interestingly, it was originally a formulation drank and splashed onto the skin to encourage good health and avoid seasonal lurgies, but when all pharmaceutical preparations had to have their formulations recorded, the maker of 4711 avoided this by making his preparation into a 'perfume'. Clever right?
My Grandmother and Mother often bought me 4711 in a tiny bottle as a special gift around my birthday at the end of the summer holidays, so the connection to long, hot, summertime evenings was cemented with this light, cool citrus-herb blend.
My formulation is a homage to the original version of the cologne by Giovanni Farina (after much data-mining and forum-lurking I uncovered reference to a recipe published that was attributed to the court of Cologne). The ingredients were all botanical which was as I expected...and with a few alterations, due to some components not being readily available (eg: Citron is not a commercially produced fruit anymore and was unobtainable in any authentic formulation) I developed a scent that I expect would have been familiar to those courtiers lucky enough to receive a bottle way back then.
Fragrance Notes - Neroli, Citrus, Jasmine, Rose, Rosemary with artisan botanical infusions and essences in organic alcohol.
Energy Signature - freshly showered skin with the scent of the sun and sky. Cool white linen and sparkling crystal-ware.
Timing: Wear it to relax, stargaze and be enveloped in the fact that sometimes, everything is perfect.
Contains essences of Rosemary Leaf (Vitality, Clarity, Memory) and Jasmine Blossom (Soft Sensuality, Forgiveness, Heart's Contentment).
Each perfume is presented with information cards.
